2016 Junior Division

Madison Smith

Madison Richardson Smith is a 9-year old honor student residing in Lake Charles, LA. She has aspirations of becoming a pediatrician and leading a non-profit literacy organization to help people learn to read and develop a joy of reading, as she is an avid reader herself. Sports, dance, painting, singing, traveling, and playing board games with her family are a few of the things she enjoys. Madison also volunteers year-round with several community organizations such as Abraham's Tent, AmeriCorps, and the Salvation Army. She participated in the Raising Cane's Lemonade Day Young Entrepreneurs event, during which she raised over $400.00 for Habitat for Humanity. In addition, she has been active in several marathons and walks to support medical research, youth suicide prevention, and environmental awareness.

2016 Senior Division

Alyssa Leigh Bishop

Alyssa Bishop is a seventh grader at Juban Parc Junior High, where she is enrolled in the Gifted and Talented Art programs, is a percussionists in Advanced Band, and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She has been a member of MENSA for four years and the Girl Scouts of America for seven. Alyssa earned the Bronze Award for her community service project. She has won numerous awards for her artwork and was recognized by her school as an Outstanding Beta Club member for having the most community service points. Alyssa enjoys decorating and serving as a crew leader during her church's Vacation Bible School, in addition to serving as an acolyte. In her spare time Alyssa enjoys drawing, reading, and spending time with her friends and her cats. She is the former 2012 Junior Division Titleholder and plans to attend college to become an architect.
